Assistant Plant Manager
Role Summary:
The Assistant Plant Manager at Prestressed Concrete Construction will support the Plant Manager in overseeing plant operations, ensuring efficient production processes, and maintaining high-quality standards. This role involves managing employees, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of production management.
Responsibilities:
1. Production Support:
- Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing daily production operations to ensure schedules are met and production targets are achieved.
- Help manage inventory to ensure the availability of necessary materials while minimizing waste and costs.
2. Workflow Optimization:
- Collaborate with production team leads to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
- Support the implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
3. Quality Assurance:
- Assist in maintaining high standards of quality control to ensure products meet company and industry standards.
- Help implement corrective actions for any quality issues and continuously seek improvement opportunities.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Generate reports and provide insights and recommendations to the Plant Manager.
5. Resource Management:
- Assist in managing plant resources, including equipment, materials, and manpower, to meet production demands efficiently.
- Coordinate with the maintenance department to ensure equipment is maintained and operating optimally.
6. Interdepartmental Coordination:
- Collaborate with logistics, quality assurance, and maintenance departments to ensure seamless production and communication.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to address and resolve any operational issues.
7. Employee Management:
- Provide leadership and guidance to production team members, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Assist in mentoring and developing team members, promoting professional growth and skill enhancement.
8. Safety and Compliance:
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Promote a safe working environment and address any safety concerns promptly.
9. Administrative Responsibilities:
- Assist with administrative tasks including data analysis, report generation, and documentation management.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production management, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in using production management software and MS Office Suite.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Working Conditions:
- This role primarily operates within a plant environment, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Some travel may be required to meet with clients, suppliers, or attend industry events.
